We bought a house and we were told that there was a new garage door and garage opener. There was and then we hired a drywaller for the garage and he fouled it all up. Atr first it would open but not close and then it stopped working entirely. I was bummed. However, at looking at the opener I saw a little sticker for Sunwest Garage Door. I called them and am I ever glad I did! The kindest and coolest young man, DJ, arrived exactly on time and said, "We'll get this figured out. Don't worry". He couldn't have been more right. Within 10 minutes he had located the problem - told me the wiring had been crimped and cut and that he would completely rewire with new thicker gauge stuff at a very reasonable price. 45 minutes later he was DONE! I couldn't believe it. It was brand new again. Professional, courteous, helpful, honest and fair. Seems like rare qualities nowadays but you'll find them with Sunwest Garage Door. What a marvelous experience. Thanks DJ! Thanks Sunwest!

Common Garage Door Questions

The most frequent signs that you need garage door opener repair are:

  • Garage door won’t open with the remote or keypad.
  • You hear unusually squeaking or grinding noises.
  • You notice the slow opening and closing of your garage door.
  • The garage door has unreliable opening and closing.
  • The garage door begins to close, then reverses.
  • Your opener is reaching 15-20 years old.

If you notice any of the above issues with your garage door opener, you need to schedule repair quickly to prevent further damage to your garage door system. Give us a call at 714-528-5670 to set up your appointment today!

When a garage door starts to close and then reverses, the problem is usually with the garage door opener safety sensors. These safety eyes are located inside the opening of your garage door, triggering an automatic reversal when they sense an object or movement. This is an important safety mechanism to prevent the garage door from injuring children or pets. However, after years of use, these sensors can get out of alignment or dirty which stops the door from closing. When this happens, you can try readjusting and cleaning the eyes to see if that repairs the issue. If not, consider scheduling a repair appointment with us at 714-528-5670.
